Recipe Granola
Homemade granola is one of my very favorite health foods for many reasons you will read below. It is something the allergic person can closely regulate by making modifications to the recipe. This recipe is perfect because it is cheap, healthy, can be organic and pure, makes a lot, and stores well. It’s a great food to stock in the house for hungry teenagers.
Why do I use the ingredients I use? Well, let me tell you
I use grains in keeping with Eat 4 Your Type (eating for your blood type.)
I use wheat germ because it is high in selenium and zinc. Lots of my clients test they need this for their reproductive health.
Celtic Sea Salt is used because none of the wonderful minerals have been removed from this particular salt and it has not been processed with high heat. High heat makes salt inorganic and difficult to bind to bodily fluids and tissues. This salt actually has a moist texture and is grey in color.
I use sesame seeds (lots of them) because they are high in Tyrosine which helps with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Sesame products such as tahini, halvah, and raw sesame seeds help with the balance of serotonin and dopamine in the brain. When taken at about 1 tablespoon/day, it prevents depression.
Whole flax seed acts differently than ground flax seed. Whole flax seed is very mucogenic. It swells and gets slippery helping the bowels to empty without strain.
Pumpkin seeds are a wonderful seed for the reproductive system of both males and females. Something in it binds the breakdown byproducts of testosterone which cause Benign Prostate Hyperplasia. Pumpkin seeds also act as the base ring for progesterone and estrogen, so I often recommend the seed for perimenopausal women and great reproductive health. It gives the body what it needs in the form of hormones.
Udo’s Choice Oil is the best combination of oils on the market. It has a perfect blend of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. I use the oil and the Wholesome Fast Food Blend.
Blackstrap molasses is extremely high in bioavailable minerals and has lots of iron in it. These days I am seeing lots of people with tan chins which is an early sign of iron anemia.

Spanish Food - How To Prepare Boquerones
Whilst on your travels in Spain and pausing to take a breath from
site-seeing, you have surely experimented with “tapas” at a
welcoming bar.
If this is the case, it is more than likely that you have come
across the small, tasty filleted fish, preserved in olive oil,
sliced garlic and chopped parsley, and highly popular throughout
Spain. This delectable dish is usually known as “boquerones” but,
depending on the area, can also be called “anchoas”.
Boquerones are small, fresh anchovies. Accompanied by crisp,
fresh Spanish bread, a glass of ruby-red wine or refreshing
Asturian cider, they are a delight to eat. Moreover - as with
many traditional Spanish dishes which comprise the renowned
Mediterranean Diet - they are extremely healthy.
Like its friend the sardine, the anchovy is an oily fish, packed
full of proteins and minerals, protecting against heart disease,
and “good” for cholesterol. What
Avoid Burnout - Eat Healthily
Healthy recipes are not only pleasant but essential for success. The temptations to eat unwisely are there for us all whether we are in business or just enjoying company over a meal.
If you are sick and tired of having to work from the same few recipes it does not have be like that.
Success is not totally dependent on eating healthily but to maintain a good weight for height ratio and keep reasonably fit is surely something we owe to our loved ones, our businesses, clients, employees and ourselves.
Healthy eating, sound sleeping, relaxation and regular exercise must be worked at if we are to be happy with ourselves. It is vitally important how we relax, manage our time and vitally, sleep.
As the pressures of work or business building mount there is always a threat that self indulgence through food and drink may affect performance. To avoid this there are a number of fairly simple things we can do to ensure good health.
After a stressful day some alternative activity is always a good way of winding down and freeing the mind from the mass of conflicting thoughts which can affect our ability to relax. Some exercise coupled with a sensible healthy diet is extremely beneficial.
What we each choose to do is up to us. We need to find what works for us so that we can avoid being below par. If we lack exercise with a drop off in fitness level unwise eating can be disastrous.
In an active business life there is always the temptation to eat too well and it can become part of your way of life. Healthy recipes don’t have to be difficult or take long to make.
What are the issues that can cause overeating? I have always had a great appetite and eaten well. At 6′- 4″ with a large frame my weight has in the past touched 20 stone so I do speak from experience.
There have been times when under great pressure managing change and stemming losses in a number of businesses it has been very difficult to avoid self indulgence, living in hotels and working too long hours then eating alone and late are asking for trouble. Alcohol, drugs and careless eating are NOT the answer.
When carrying out overseas work where the hours can be long, eating late and not sleeping well combined with lack of exercise and insufficient relaxation can be very debilitating. I’ve had my share of that also.
Despite being fortunate in being able cope reasonably well I have been through acute periods where I honestly know that I have over indulged, it is a vicious cycle which is difficult to break and it does drain performance.
Good eating habits using healthy recipes, some exercise, relaxation and regular holidays are all essential if we are to avoid problems. So even if you are living a business life with a good portion of time in hotels it is essential to know what you should be eating and just like at home stick to healthy recipes.
